Did you use a wiring harness or did you hardwire it.

If you hardwired it, it could be a number of things, but most obviously, it might be that you connected wires to the wrong spot. Theres an FAQ here on the12volt.com that shows what the colors of the stock wires mean.

If you used a harness, try taking it back to the place you bought it and ask them if there were ever any compications with HU installs on your model and year of truck. The Harness WILL come with directions as to what wire to connect where, and aftermarket HUs will also show it in the manual.

If you dont have the manual, check the HU Manufacturers website. (Its pretty straight forward with the harness. Red to Red, Yellow to Yellow, Green w/ Stripe to Green w/ Stripe, etc)

Try this;

BTW Doesnt GMC make the Sierra?? :S

Oh, that could change things then.

I'd say your best bet is go to any place that installs stereos and ask for an Aftermarket Headunit Wire Harness, or if need be, order one online, from Crutchfield.com (i'm not sure if they ship to the UK)

Then all you'd do is match the harness color wires to the HU wire colrs,plug the clip into your truck's factory clip and you're done. Took me about 30 minutes the first time.

I saw that too and thought it was a typo, for us here in North America, a Sierra is a GM pickup. (ewwww) Ford forever (I know you F350 fans will agree) Have you already cut the wires off of the factory plug? If you have not, take a look at this site to see if the wire molex in your car looks the same as the ones listed on the site. Look in particular for the Ford vehicles applicable to your year. If the plugs look the same but the wiring colors are different, you have a place to satrt.
