I am making this box for a school project, and well i decided to go ahead and make a 3d model of it on the computer. I have to admit it helped out in many ways. I found problems, and flaws in the design i had on paper. Granted this software is readily available to everyone, i used SolidWorks, it is cool to see how it can help, even in enclosure designs. Other than the circles, all of the cut outs are goin to be 1/4" acrylic windows. This box is for two 8" subs. Each enclosure is about .92 cu ft. After my experience with designing this box on the computer, i will be using this program for all future box designs.

Please let me know any opinions, comments, or suggestions.

By the way, it took about a total of 3 hours sitting in front of the computer to finish this. Plus there was alot of paper designing and other thoughts.

Is that a vented port on both sides of the subs?? Wow, how much for you to build me one like that, out of wood, s+h+l=?? Shipping handling and labor that is, I'd pay for one, out of wood though, not really a fan of the acrylic style boxes. And what is that openning at the top?? O.O

The slotos on the outer sides of the box are ports. the ones that are close to the center of the box are going to be windows. Like what you would see on a bandpass box. The top holes are also going to be windows. These will allow you to see inside the box. Each woofer will have its own enclosure. There will be a neon on each side of the box, inside, hidden from view, and will be set to go along with the beat of the music, or i can set them to be on all the time, with an on/ off switch.

And hell, i might sell this one when im done with it. I'll let everyone know when im done, there will be pics of the box, and possibly an asking price if i sell it.

Thanks

Looks good.  Make sure you keep your neon power supplies away (far, far away) from your audio cables and it should be fine.

I actually have a box similar to that for 2 audiobahn 10's.  The only thing differs from mine is that I don't have any windows but I have ports on the side.  Where is the start of the ports, internally?

Got an update.

I changed a few dimensions to accomodate some new subs. Instead of using really crappy Wal-mart subs, i'm going to use 2 new Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 8" subs.

I now have another question. I plan on carpeting the inside of the box, for a clean looking interior. My question is simply this, if i carpet the inside of the slot ports, is there going to be any annoying port noise / whistling?
