alright, im lookin to spend about 1700 on a system, no cd player or anything no box, or nuttin just subs and amp, i was lookin at the jl audio W7 (please dont turn this to a flame war as i have no idea on construction or quality) but i read a few threads on here and heard the 9500 hits harder yet with a little less SQ, im not exactly the one that has to have SQ but would like a little, i was hoping i could run two of the 9500 on a ??1500d?? i think i read, do i need two of those or just one, also the Orion H2 sub, any good?

The 9500 were built with the intentions of running two off of a 1500d. The MTX rep was at my store  alittle while ago and we talked about this exact senario. Thats a perfect match and those woofers are damn mena. BTW I think they actually sound better than the W7 but thats my opinion. I can say they do hit harder than the W7 In simmilar situations.

alright thank you, but if the conitnuous power handling is 2000 watts, and the max output on that amp is 1500 at 2 ohms....then how is that a match, not doubting your opinion just a question

continuos power handeling is not 2000 watts on a 9500, its 750. 2000 watts continuos power handelling is only the RFL sub not the 9500

oops my bad, thats the orion h2, about how many db's will i hit with that set up, in a properly tuned box....i was gunna build the box and fiberglass a custom enclosure over it, or how do they mount the subs that are FB enclosed? do they actually hit or are they looks, doesnt seem like fiberglass would be strong enuff for something that excurts so much, and i think i read 1.14 inch?

That sounds about right for excursion. I, unforunatly havent been able to use these subs with a meter yet and I am about the worst person in the world to guess spl for. I thought my system was gonna be able to barely be able to do 140db and I am doing 146. I also thought my buddies truck would be able to do 10 easy and he cant crack 137 so I really am not good at that whole guessing thing. Also what kind of car is this in.

I personally like the JL better because it plays loud and still sounds good, but... im guessing you want spl so the mtx will probobly be a little louder.
