Suggestions on rear fill speakers for the rear of a toyota tundra,,, Im using Diamond Hex components up front,, thinking of putting just a 6-6.5 mid in the rear for fill rather than coax or components....Let me know what you think, also what brands out there may go well with what I have, thanks!

Hi Jay. It depends on what you're trying to accomplish, really. Do you want rear seat passengers (if your truck has a rear seat) to be able to listen to the music? Are you building your vehicle for SQ competition (in which case you don't want rear fill)? Why do you feel you need rear fill?

I do have rear seats in my vehicle, although I don't carry all that many passengers, I guess the main reason that I feel the need to place speakers in the rear doors is that there are factory ones there currently, and I want to replace them... =)

OK, gotcha. And that is a fine reason, by the way! I'd simply find a nice set of coaxials that fit the factory openings (which I believe are 6-3/4" in the Tundra.) A decent set of Bostons or Polks or MB Quarts, or even Infinity Kappas. You won't hear them all that much from the front seat - they are mainly for the rear seat passengers.

I too happen to like a little rear fill, I would be inclined to match the rear speakers with the front. Keep it simple, a good coax is probably all you need.

Found a few pairs of Diamond components at a local dealer here, said they were getting rid of them because they are crap, so I could have them cheap,,, better to pick those up and maybe just use the mids,, or still go with the coax <can probably get the coax for about the same price>

You have a local dealer who thinks Diamond Audio is crap? Where do yu live? And yes, if the price is right buy them all.

I live in the San Diego Area, yeah he said they were crap,, I Have been very happy with the last 2 pairs of Hex that I have had, Im not sure about the other models of DA, but Im sure they have to be decent as well.
