Does Planet Audio rate their RMS power @ 12.5V or 14.4?
I am looking at the Vortex line, which looks to be their entry level.
My local shop is selling the VX2004 for $200 with a 5-year warranty.
Max Power (2 Ohms)      : 100W X 4
RMS Power (4 Ohms)      : 50W X 4
Bridged Power (4 Ohms)      : 200W X 2
Signal-to-Noise Ratio      : 102dB
Frequency Response      : 20Hz-20kHz
The dealer says they rate their amps at 12.5V, which makes them "underrated" at 50W/channell.
I have Audiobahn ABC600Ts (140WRMS)in the front and AS62Qs (90W RMS) in the back. Will 50Wx4 power these to these guys enough, or should I save for a 75W or 100W x 4?
How hard would it be to run these speakers @ 2Ohms to get the 100Wx4? Recommended?

nix the 2 ohm idea. 50watts rms is gonna be suffiecent to run those speakers. As far as I know planet audio used to rate at 12.5, I dont know if they still do for sure. As far as the speakers go I have heard on here that they overrate their speakers so between those two things Im sure the speakers will sound fine.
double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

I hear that a lot about Audiobahn. As far as the $200 price and 5 year warranty, it sounds like a hell of a deal. ($40/year for a nice amp)
Anyone have Planet Audio Amps or experience with them? How is the Warranty coverage in your eyes?
Do other "high-end" manufacturers you guys like to recommend offer 5 year warranties? Is this common?
I hope to pick it up today if I get some good input about Planet Audio.
Thanks Ravendarat.

I have 2 planet audio amps and have had them for 2 years and haven't had any trouble yet. They are really good amps for the money. I have the 1250d which powers my subs and gives them all the juice they need and I also have the rem 4300 4 channel for my fronts. I don't plan on getting rid of them any time soon. Go ahead and buy it, they are good.

I work for a retail of Planet Audio amps in Fort Wayne, IN. We have had great luck with all of their amps. As for the five year warranty, it is great and they don't seem to question the reason for sending it in as much. Nothing like and american made product and service.
However if the amp has been damaged beyond repair (rare) and the amp is five years old they cannot directly replace it. They usually will send you the current model which may change is specs slightly.
Either way it is a great deal to have and amp for five years and get replaced or repaired.
Great product, great service.

Is that 5 year warranty still good even if you install it yourself?  I know some companies will extend the warranty that long only if it's installed by a shop.

I'm having the shop install it just to make sure. Otherwise I don't know.
