I know this topic can be problematic,my first question is :my passive crossovers have a little lamp inside that sametimes lights up,why does it do that that ? The amp powering them up is a RF and the tweets are also by RF.

My 5.25" mids run thru an active crossover that is kinda confusing to me cause my Mb Quarts run happy between 49 hz~32 khz, with crossover requiered to be at 4200hz but my electronic crossover has this setings:Mid cut(180hz),hi pass at 180,120,80 or flatt, the low pass is :flatt,5k,3.5k,2.4k  so how do i get my proper setings here ? ...same for the 4" mids with the exeption that they work best between 62hz ~32khz with the crossover point at 3700hz.

What i don't understand how do i get this numbers like 4200hz and 3700hz when my crossover uses hi-pass and low-pass with different numenclature, can somebody help please.

Thank you all.

I don't understand what you mean by resonating frequencies, they (5.25" and 4")both are mids, the 5.25 are in the kick panels and the 4 are in the rear, the vehicle is a 1995 BMW 3 series (4door).Their sensitivity is 85 dB,crossover slope 12 dB/octave.I hope this will help, thank you for taking the time to read my posting.

Hey dan the light is limiting power to the tweeters that is what it does it is their source of protection from overpowering. Actually if you notice when you turn the treble down it will dim or go out but turn the volume up and treble up and, wow it looks like your car is on fire with all the flashes.Crossover explanation please, -- posted image. Not to get off subject but in my car I have my x-overs behind the drivers seat and they are seen when my windows are rolled down when I pump it everyone stares thinking my car is burning from those bulbs flashing along with my 1700 watt system. lol this is normal Dan it keeps your tweets from burning up.

Dan what brand of x-over is that??? Usually a x-over will allow lets say 100hz and down for low pass and 100hz and above untill the mid cutt off frequency you choose. And from there you will enter your high pass settings like 5k and up . I am kinda confused on the numbers you gave so what brand is the electronic x-over.

Thanks for checking my posting, the electronic crossover is a sony xec 1000/s,but i only this one for my 5.25" and 4" Mb Quarts my mids, the tweets are RF powered by an RF amp,the rest gets power from 3 Nakamichi amps, one being for the subwoofer,BTW the sub is an ads 310rs.My crossover has setings for the sub like this:low pass 180,120,80 and 50.

Thank you mobiletoys2002.
