I finally got my Type R(2 ohm VC,300/1000 rms) in the trunk so naturally I'm thinking about what to get next-amp upgrade.  The new RF Punch amps have been recomended to me by a few people, in particular the Punch P5002 which puts out 500W 4 ohm bridged .  My last RF amp was about 5 years ago and, well, it sucked.  I've been informed that RF has completely re-engineered it's products and once again make quality amps that deliver the power they advertise.  What do you guys think?

The older line tended to overheat and shut off at 2 ohms. The played better at 4 ohms.   I haven't had this problem with the new line yet.  I agree, definitely good stuff.

Does this improvement in quality extend to all their amps?  RF does have a lot of amps on the market, all seem to boast the most power at 4 ohms, which is what I'm looking for(or 1 ohm).  The new Punchs are all chrome w a red RF badge on the left side.  How do these compare to the older Punch, (silverish w lots of funky metal vents).?

I find that the newer stuff has drastically improved from the amps. you are talking about around 5 yrs. ago, i have heard several horror stories and seen a few in those, but they made a turn for the better from what i am seeing
