Powering components

When powering the component set does it matter if i have a qaulity amp as compared to a not qaulity amp. By non qaulity I mean lanzar or something of that nature. Keep in mind the amps have the same power output. Everything is exact to the specs except the name brand. I guess what Im asking for is what do you want in an amp if its going to be running mids and highs?

I'm capable as well on noticing the diferences between different amps IF the volume isn't very loud.

Once you  get past a certain point in loudness, your ability to notice those certain details is gone.

Then other factors come into play, such as the amp reaching peak power ( AKA clipping), etc.

I'm convinced that audio is a very subjective matter.  Other people may not like the same sound settings that you like.  The main thing is that you're happy with what you've got.   If you have a good ear, you will be able to tell the difference, but yeah... you have to listen to both of them, and see what you like. Then make  a decision based on price, quality, features, bling factor, etc etc.

In the end it all depends on what you want, how much you have, and what you need.  (Not neccesarilly in that order).

As far as a good test for determining how good your ear is, you can try listening to a song, converted to MP3 format, at diferent quality rates.

If you can tell the difference between a 192Kbps and a 160Kbps MP3 you have  a superb ear.

If you can tell the difference between a 160Kbps and a 128Kbps MP3 you have  a good ear

If you CAN'T  tell the difference between a 128Kbps and a 90Kbps MP3 you have been listening to your system at high volumes for way  too long...

Oh.... and a quick one i forgot...

As far as sound quality is concerned (and this is from personal experience)  The head unit is THE single most important piece of equipment....
