1996 Taurus speaker removal

I'm trying to replace the front speakers in my taurus but cant seem to get the grille off with out breaking it.  Is anyone familiar with this model and have a suggestion??  Thanks for the help

I have a Haynes manual for that car. 1- disconnect battery ground  2-carefully pry off the trim cover behind door handle  3-remove the plug covering the screw at the bottom of the door pull pocket, then remove the screw

If the car has optional Mach 40 speakers, remove the speaker grille cover at the lower front corner of the window by gently squeezing in on the sides to disengage the lock tabs, then lifting it off.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
