speakers cutting out?

 O.K. First a system layout. By the way this is all in a 1990 Honda Accord LX

JVC head unit, Active EQ, Kicker Active crossover, Kicker Amp, 4 Clarion 6.5s. I have two JL audio 10w0s but they and the other kicker amp are not installed yet.

Here is the problem. I had the JVC head unit hooked up via a wiring harness to the car. I then ran power and RCA back to the x-over and amp. I used it for awhile with the deck powering the four speakers. then I decided to start on the sub install. So i pulled the deck out and disconnected the deck from the speakers, then i ran 14/4 wire from the amp to right behind the deck and hooked it onto the factory wiring.(I did this because i could not run new wire to the front door speakers) I then reinstalled the deck and X-over. Here is where the problem came in. When i turn the volume up(about 1/4 of the way) the speakers start to crackle and cut out when i let my foot off the gas. There is no buzzing or anything like that. Any ideas?

PS: here is how the system is hooked up. the front and rear on each side are run in par.

O.K. i dropped two of the speakers from the load and it still does the thing. its going to take me a whie to find two more speakers to use as a test pair. thanks guys, i will keep posting.

You're that far, you should be able to tell if its speakers or amp / input.  Go ahead and disconnect the car speakers, then run your two test speakers in parallel to one channel.  (You only have to test one channel at a time.)  That will duplicate the load on the amp.  Do it on one side, then connect to the other two terminals.  If you get the problem in the test speakers, that will eliminate the wiring in the car as the problem.  If no problems in the test speakers, you'll know that the problem is from the amp terminals forward.

If the problem exists in the test speakers, then follow DYohn's post.

Thanks a million guys. I have been doing installs for the last ten years and never had this happen. In fact i had this very same system in my last car, hooked up the same way and it ran fine for two years. Thanks again.
