I'm trying to install a new stereo in my 1997 Subaru Legacy, but am having problems working out which wires are which off of the factory connector.  If anybody has a wiring diagram for the stereo connector, it would be a huge help if you could let me know.  Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the quick reply, however it doesn't appear to match my Subaru Legacy.  I know which wires are the speaker wires (I traced them to the speakers), so there's only a total of 6 wires that I don't know what they are, and two of those go to a plug that isn't used, so it's really only 4 wires that I'm not sure of.  The two wires that go to something that's not in use are yellow with blue stripe an white with green stripe.  The two wires which are in the center of the connecter are black (I would expect that to be ground) an yellow.  The other two are blue with red stripe an green with orange stripe.  Those six wires are the ones that I'm trying to identify so that I can install the stereo.  I tried following the guide listed above, but the first wire listed (RED / green) is not even a wire on my connector.  Any additional help would be appreciated as well.  Thanks again!

If you get a volt meter you can test the remaining wires and figure out which ones are the constant switched and ground. Do you have a power Antenna? If so then some of the wires will go for the antenna. What ever wires you have left over after the antenna you don’t need.
