I have a pioneer head unit, jbls all round kenwood sub, caliber amp, 600W boschman amp and 6 cd changer.

1. I have bought the cd changer seperately from 'freeads' it came without the power lead. there are 3 poles and by messing around with it I have managed to get power to the unit. it works sometimes only. the main problem is that if I have it working , leave it and then come back to it it doesn't work. Also, even though there is power the cd magazine doesn't like to go in and stay in the unit. Does anyone know how the 3 poles for power to the unit break down (12+, ground etc...) I can't seem to find any wiring diagrams, and it is a bit tough to take the changer apart as there is all the stabilising rubbers attached to the screws etc...

2. the head unit was working fine attached to a remote live, for some reason or other the lead stopped working. I have taken another live from the cigarette lighter and ever since I have been getting distortion supreme. That pole position /outrun style whining (alternator interference) as well as booms when changing between sources and starting up the car (the whining is only when car or int. fan is running). The other day I thought what the hell! and decided I could live with ther buzzing for the journey I was going on, as soon as I put it into the dash the interference stopped completely. I have tried wiring it up in many a different way but am just annoying myself silly now.

If any one has any advice or has overcome similar problems, I would appreciate any help.

I was told that a 40A suppressor might sort out the interference.,

I have managed to overcome these problems through finding the manual and installation guide on pioneer website for the cd changer, as far as the head unit interference goes I just chucked it in prodded the leads, gave it the fonz touch and it works a beuty!
