Hi, I just have a couple quick questions.
I'm in the midst of a large fiberglass project, in which I am building boxes for 2 MTX 61544A's (15" dual 4 ohm voice coils, 6000 series), and an amp rack that will fit between the boxes. It's tough to explain, so perhaps I will post some pictures if you guys are interested.
Anyways, I checked out the MTX web site for reccomended port diameters, and box volumes and such, and I am building my boxes to be approx 1.8ft^3, this is a little on the small side, but I really have some size constraints, and these subs are from my old station wagon, where space wasn't an issue. So, according to MTX, I need 1 4" port for each 15 (seperate boxes, so 1 port per box), but that seemed like too little, so I tried my best to fit 2 4" ports into the box, but it will be very very difficult to do.
Now, I'm wondering, will I get a lot of port noise if I use a single 4" port?
I will flare both ends of the port, and properly position them away from the edges inside the box.
From what I understand, the peak excursion of this sub is quite low for a 15, perhaps that will aid me in sneaking by with a single port.
If it's better to have 2 ports, one port will have a single 90* bend in it, but the other will have 1 90* bend, 2 45* bends, and about a 15* bend near the outside end of it. I plan to round out the corners, and do everything I can to promote airflow, but I am still worried if I wouldn't be better off with a single port, with a 60* bend in it.

I think you're better off with the single port that MTX recommends.  Bend it however it fits.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

that does sound a little small for a 15 inch sub. i have a l7 10 solo-baric and its in a 1.83 cf box with 2 ports that are 4" by 17.5 long.
74 chevy truck, 12in lift, 38 inch tires, viper alarm,dual batteries,pioneer premier 760mp deck, jl CSI components,JBL PX 600.2 amp, L7 10 mounted in a 1.83 CF ported enclosure.
