Very Confused, please help

 All these terms have me baffled, I am using my blokes address so am but a simple gal!!!!

 I simply (wish it was) want to wire in my four 13cm kenwood speakers, spla-350 amp and infinity sub.  At present I have the four speakers wired to JVC head unit, remote output from stereo wired to amp, and sub wired to amp but it does not sound good.  Speakers seem to be overloaded with bass and sub very quiet!!!!!!!!  I am almost pulling my blonde locks out!  Amp has label saying 'BRIDGED' what is this and should i be using it??????????????????????????????  Pls help!!!!!

First im guessing that the amp you are using is a 2 channel amp for the sub only. I would use its bridged output for the sub. It sounds like the bass on your JVC cd player is toooo high and is causing those kenwood speakers to distort. After connecting the sub to the bridge output on your amp (Please post the brand of amp) set the gain on your sub amplifier the following way if you dont know how:

1. Turn the gain on your sub amp all the way down.

2. Put in a familiar cd and turn the volume on your cd player up untill you hear distortion from your speakers (distortion will sound like your speakers are humming or make a popping noise and as you turn the volume control on your cd player up farther it dosnt get much louder and the highs and lows basically get cut off) .

3. Slowly turn down the volume control untill the distortion goes away.

4. Go back to your sub amp and turn up the gain untill you hear distortion coming from your sub now (a popping or buzzing noise also).

5. Now turn down the gain on the amp untill the distortion coming from the sub goes away.

And that's all.

As long as your amp isnt going to put more watts into your sub than it can handle you can bridge it.  Also look for a bass boost settng on your amp, and a Db setting. Depending on the amp their are alot of differant setting to screw with. Try messing with those uintill you getting it sounding like u want. But their could be other things wrong to.
