Before I get ragged on for asking such a question..but has anyone done an install in aChevette before?
I have one (I sorta like them). I'm just wondering what you guys have popped into one. I'm into both sq and spl. But do not have a system complete or the car on the road. So basically im just looking for ideas.

I don't recall ever seeing a post for a chevette. But that doesn't matter.  My advice to you is to just look at other cars (regardless of make and model) and find a way to cleanly bring that Idea in your car.  It'll take a little more work than most new or popular older cars but be patient there has to be a first for everything.  And why would we rag on you?  I've seen V8 powered chevettes spank honda civics at the drag strip with ease!!!!

I was treated like crap on Car Sound based solely on my preference of vehicle, hence my heads up. Yeah I've been checking older civics and golfs. Got some ideas.
If you do have any ideas, let me know. I got big plans down the road..

I have done a couple chevette's. One was a friging SPL machine for my friend and the other was a customers car where he did 6" infinty reference speakers in kick pods, a pioneer deck, and a couple of mtx 10" 6000's all running off of MTX power. Sounded really good. The SPL machine had 10 12's in it. That was fun, but pretty much wrecked the car.

i used to have a chevette.  oh, good ol times=).  anyways, i had a pair of 6.5s in the front doors and a set of 6x9s in the back custom mounted where the armrests are.  then i had a 600w amp mounted on the back of the seat running a MTX 15 in a dual ported box facing backwards.  the box was so big it barely even fit in the hatch.  definately the loudest system ive ever had, but not the best sq.  that was a fun car tho, since it was so small and had rear wheel drive.

Thats when you know its time to find a different forum.  Thats BS.. Chevette kick ass!   I wish i could find one, they can take a beating.  And the things you could do...lol

Basically, you have a clean slate to work with.  I'd make it compatiable to a newer car- speaker sizes, so if the car dies or you want a new one, you could transfer everything....or get another chevette.lol

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

Like I said, I've seen these things spanks civics at the strip. I'd soup up a Chevette before I'd do a pinto any day!!! I found this on car domain.com. This is what I meant by taking your time and being patient.

My brother was working with a 74 toyota corolla and by looking at it you would never tell it (ill post pictures soon). You get sick of seeing Civics, accords, and eclipse sometimes. They all look the same.  Good luck to you and post pics and ideas.
