i have a jeep radio that i need to install into a 1981 el camino (it's free and i need a radio). where can i get a connector that fits the connector that's on the jeep radio

You want what they call a "reverse harness"....Best Buy stocks quite a few of them.....when I worked there a year ago I think we had the old Jeep plugs.  If it's from a recent Jeep, it's actually going to be a Chrysler plug......bring the radio along with you so you get the right one.

You could also just cut the harness out of a car at the junkyard, but it will take some legwork to find out what color wire does what.  (The aftermarket plugs use standard colors, and come with a chart.)
