Problem is that I can only get one speaker the right front to fire. Have followed the hookup wiring diagram from this site and only get sound out of that speaker. What am I missing here? Have tried connecting that set of speaker wires (front right) to all other speaker outputs on stereo unit and I get sound. But connecting the designated speaker wires to those outputs gets zilch. Any help or ideas appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- Lazerbeam

Sounds like the OEM speaker wires in the truck are bad. Do you get continuity readings through the speaker wires with an ohm meter?

I've the same problem with a '89 Ford Bronco. Would you share the out-come of this delima? I'm not sure if I should

1) replace the speakers (Right Front is ony one working very well).

2) Replace wiring

3) do both.

Check for continuity on the factory speaker wires and check to see if any of them are going to ground. If they are they need to be replaced. If the speakers are shot, don't expect an sound as well. Make sure the balance and fader are set properly on the cd player.

go to the speaker location and run a temporary test wire to see if it's the speaker or wire, if it still doesn't work swap in a known good speaker to also check the wireing (you could do a continuity check, but the speaker will work as well)

you didnt happen to replace the radio with a different Ford radio did you?

Yes I did. The replacement radio was in a '95 Ford Aerostar Van we own. This radio was in good working condition (was replaced with a Stereo CD player). The two (bronco and aerostar) are same (in apperance, size, name and faceplate). The part id's are the same for both rear plugs and fit fine.Prior to changing radios, the speakers were faint, but not as much as now

thats the problem...the Aerostar radios use a different radio pin out configuration because of the RSA ( Rear Seat Audio ) module and is not compatible with other vehicles.... at least not without a fair bit of rewiring

they never made one... i can give you a tip that has worked for me in the past...but i'm doing it from memory so if i'm wrong dont jump on me with both boots.... the end connector has the speaker wires on it, the second wire down is the common ground for all the speakers...you have to cut the other 3 speaker ground wires behind the plug and connect them all to this common ground wire..the speaker positives stay as is... let me know if this worked...if it didnt i'll dig out my book of wisdom and look up the schematic i drew years ago to overcome this situation.....
