I got a new US Acoustics USB 600D today, and after reading through the owner's manual I couldn't find any information regarding:

setting the amp gain when it has a remote sub level adjuster.  Is the remote knob supposed to be turned all the way to max when setting amp gain? Or is it supposed to be left unplugged?  And does using this remote knob affect the amp gain adjustment (like the bass boost circuit does)?

I usually like to crank the remote sub control when I set the gain. This way I can operate the system safely without having to worry too much about the customer sending the amp clipping all over the map. If your cd player has a built in sub level control then you do not need this device, leave it unplugged.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thanks, Rob.  That was my gut instinct, but I've never used one before, and I might just not hook this up either.  Got the amp in one day from Crutchfield's, which is good.  The amp is made in Korea...ho boy......Do we make anything in the States anymore besides........enemies?
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

:)  Good one.  Interestingly enough, Nakamichi amps are manufactured in the states.... as well as several others like Memphis and MTX...
