Anyone knows where in NYC I can buy some polyfill easily and quickly? Home depot? I need some today to do a last test with my sub before I give up and research on a better sub and amp. Thanks.

Wal-mart. Just use some of their pillow stuffing.

Is there any walmart near Sunnyside if you know by any chance? I'll go wo Wal-mart and buy some pillows then.
Will 3 be enough or too much for a single 12" sub in a square box that's about 1'2" x 1'.2" x 1'?
Thanks!

Any fabric store should carry Dacron Polyfill (They also call it "batting") you don't have to go to Walmart.   If you want the highest quality available, you can order from www.partsexpress.com.  Their product is called "acoustastuff" and it is the same as that used by high-end home speaker manufacturers.

...AND on sale now...btw, you can use only half as much as dacron polyfil because of  Acousta-Stuf's superior performance.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
