Hey guys, Was just wondering if i could hook up my 2 S10L7's powered by a kicker 1200.1 amp to my stock headunit? I have a 1992 jeep cherokee head unit. I like it, it pumps and the speakers sound pretty good also. Would it make a really big difference if i buy a head unit?

Also when i by a head unit do i have to buy one with subwoofer output or no?

sorry just trying to learn.

I guess that guy has subs.

Yes, all you need is a Line Output Converter. It would probably be better if you got a new deck but it will work either way.

dramatic difference. The only way it wont be dramatic is if the stock head unit has preouts on it, and I dont think it does.

If this helps I was at a bass off last night and a stock chevy blazer won with a stock headunit, stock alternator etc. with 4 MB Quart 12s. People where laughing b/c of the stock HU, but it sounded great.

i had my HU with my alpine type-r's and it didn't sound bad. (It was a premium sound or soemthing like that)When i first got my new deck it didn't make a huge difference cause i didn't have the levels on the amp right.

I also had a friend who had a chevy truck and got 1 10" L7 and it did not sound very good at all! when he got a deck it made a big difference, so it might depend on how good of HU it is.

and on that cassette deck w/ a changer it will sound like a cd player i think if it is wired into the deck, if it's FM modulated (from the changer to the cassette deck) it porbably won't sound more like radio quailty.
