Have you guys ever ran this thing at 2 ohm mono? I have a guy that wants to do spl and wants to add 2 more subs to his amp. The catch is he's running 2 fosgate dvc's as it is and doesn't really want to get rid of them and buy 4 4ohm subs. Any ideas? I thought of doing the ol relay trick so he can cut 2 of the subs off when he's not competing but I'd like to see if anyone else can come up with some other ideas I haven't thought of.

The punch 800 will overheat and shut off. It's a good amp but it won't handle that load. Suggest that he purchase another amp for the other subs.

I agree, it will hang in there for awhile but will succumb to thermal protection.
