I am intending to buy the subject head unit and looking at a similar model (the AVIC-X1, DVD/NAV) a notice on the wall said it will not play dvd's whilst travelling and rear headrest monitors must be installed. Is this the same for the P6500? Help would be greatly appreciated.

The information you have been told is not completely the truth , The p6500dvd and avic x1 will play movies on the go but only if you connect the handbrake wire of the unit straight to ground instead of the handbrake switch ,,This also makes the unit easier to use if you add a navi as you can enter into the full navi menu which is normally only available with the handbrake on...
