When you're looking at dropping that kind of money on a component set you NEED to take a listen with your music before you buy and decide for yourself.  I'm sure they'll sound very different.  Don't just pick one without ever having heard it.

I have heard both, but I am looking for others opinions, I cannot hear them side by side, but I am looking for a response more along the lines of, "The JBL's dont stand a chance next to MB Quart" or "MB Quart is so overpriced, the JBLs sound just as good for much less".  Anyone got anything along those lines, or experience of their own?

I have a/b tested the qsds against JL's line, Memphis, Diamond, and Quart's other speakers.  The QSD clearly sounded the best to me but was beyond what I wanted to spend.

Having said that, those JBL's look pretty solid.  3500hz is a bit high of a crossover point for a 6.5" woofer in my opinion.  I think the higher end of the male vocal range and up probably have a good chance of sounding slightly strained when pushed with that crossover point w/ those woofers.

The Quart's, on the other hand, are crossed over at 2400, but don't have the steep 24db slope that the JBL's have.

What did you think, how do you describe the sound from both speakers?  What did you like / dislike about each?  (You've got me curious about those).
