I have an Alpine 6 Disk CD Changer (model number CHM-5611) that I want to install in my 96 Civic.  Can anyone give me instructions for installation?  Is it as simple as running the cable from the changer to the back of the stock stereo?  Thanks.

No, PAC makes an adapter that you will need to purchase.  The adapter plugs into the rear of your radio and the changer cable plugs into it.

I'm a newbie here, so help me out if you don't mind (a forum search didn't reveal any answers).  I recently read somewhere else that I can run the cable from the cd changer to the back of cassette player.  Ever heard of that?  Also, what is PAC?

PAC-Audio is the company that makes the adapters which will allow you to run the changer cord directly to your factory HU.  In a Civic, you will have to use the Alpine 6 disk changer which is not AI Net Compatible.  Go to this site for more info:  http://www.pac-audio.com/
