When powering speakers with an amp, is the power of the Head Unit added to the power of the amp or is it lost.  For example you have a 25 x 4 watt rms head unit running to a 100 x 4 rms amp, is the power to each speaker 125 watts or just 100 watts?

It's just what the amplifier produces.

just think of it as using two separate amplifiers... the one built into the HU or via pre-out the one you have externally.... one has nothing at all to do with the other.....
