I've personally never done this...but I've seen it done. You may want to go on some audio install sites and see what they have on there. Some of the magazines also have info on this. I'm not too sure which ones though.

It depends on what you mean by porting the deck, and if your rear speakers are on the deck. If you just mean allowing air from the trunk to enter the cabin, what I'm doing is removing my rear speakers from the original mounting location and building small fiberglass enclosures to place on top of the deck. This way, the original speaker holes act as ports. In my car, there is a noticeable difference between having these speaker holes open and closed.
