Have a look at www.installdr.com and find your vehicle. Do the connectors in your vehicle look like the ones listed there or are they different. Is one flat and long and the other square? If so then this is an indication of an amplified system.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

The connectors are for the standard stereo in the Fords. They are both the same size with 8 pins.

I've ran across this problem before.  On some older f150's the speaker wires were crossed from the factory.  Individually test all wires.
Do it right the first time

did you change out the speakers?

using a multimeter, testing for continuity or resistance, put one lead on a ground source and with the other lead test every speaker wire for a short to ground, a lot of newer decks shut down audio when any speaker wires are shorted.

can anyone out there offer me a job???  I am sooo bored at this slow shop.  I worked previously at a high volumn store for three years, with 3, 10 year vetern installers and learned a hell of a lot

electronics run off of smoke, when you let the smoke out they stop working
