My last post was hosed up hopefully this one looks better. I am hoping to get some opinions on a new stereo system I’m working on for my 97 Honda Civic 2 dr Coupe. I had it broke into and the suckers left me my Infinity 6 ½ component kappas in the doors with their tweeters’ in the stock location and Infinity Reference 6x9s in the rear deck.  I bought a Clarion 845 HU and an Audiobahn 1504 Amp, which is 150w x 4. I also got an Infinity Basslink and Q-form kick panels with some Rockford Fosgate Fanatic Q - 5 1/4s for them. I never paid attention to details when installing stuff in my car before such as imaging and want to do this install right. I’m planning to run the Fosgates and the rear deck speakers on the Audiobahn amp. Of course, the Basslink is self powered. Here is where I need some help.

Do I  NOT want to run the Kappas in the door for right now in order to get the full imaging from the kick panels?  Or should I run the Kappas and the Fosgates with the Audiobahn amp and use an old Alphasonic 75w x 2 for the rear speakers?

Or can I just unhook the Kappa tweeters and run the mid range Kappas in the door for a little more bass in the front? Or just take out the Kappas and get some true mid-basses for the door?

Any ideas where I can install the amp so it can be seen while in the car? I usually put mine under the seats but the amp is pretty cool looking and I’d like to see it. I’m not going to have the trunk open so I wasn’t planning on putting it in there.

Any help would be appreciated.

putting stuff where you can see it also means everyone else can see it,one system has been stolen from you,why advertise and get this one stolen too??i'd work on making it where they could neither see it or steal it.i would rather them rip it up and neither of of use it than to put it where they can steal it and use it or sell it.as far as what to hook up,what ever sounds good to you, experimenting is the best way, look for the best imaging (which are the kick panels) but which ones you hook up are up to you.
if i can't make it sound good, then it is just a piece of crap anyway

hmmm... what size components do the q-forms accept? I'd personally use the infinity kappas in the kicks over the RF, and get some midwoofers for the door. If you do that, you might also want to invest in a good crossover to seperate the frequencies going to the kicks from that of the midwoofers.
If the q-forms will only accept your RF speakers, then you can try what you said, disconnecting the infinity tweeters, as tweeters in both locations would more than likely ruin the imaging. The thing is, I think the infinity mid would be playing about the same frequencies as the RF mid, which might also ruin the effect of the kicks. In this case, a midwoofer might be of interest, or just take out the infinity set altogether.

use the Q-forms, but put the kappas in them, and buy some mid-range kappas for the doors. if you want to use the fosgates, than do that instead, but you might not like the sound if you use both

Thanks for the input guys. Ya I'm not sure if the Kappas will fit in the Q-forms but I might give that a shot. My feeling is that the Fosgates and Kappas will not go together if my goal is to get proper imaging.  I know Kicker makes a midbass that will fit in my door. Assuming if I put the Kappas in the Q-forms is there anyway to utilize the Infinity cross overs for them and the midbass in the door, or will I have to dump that and go with a 3rd party cross over?

Before your install you might want to invest in an alarm, a microwave sensor and a glass break sensor. Might as well protect your stuff.
