Hi, I have one 10 inch bonston pro 10.5.  I am running it with JL 500/5.  My car is an 03 tahoe with 3rd row.  What can I do with the box to get nice sound quality out of it or should I change out the sub?  Thanks!!!

What is your current complaint about the sound?

The bass hits to tight and hard.  My box size is .67 cu/ft.  Boston recommends .5 cu/ft.

What do you have it crossed over at?  I have a hunch you have it crossed over at 100hz or higher.  This can sometimes give the subwoofer more presence than one would like it to have.  Try crossing it over from 60-80hz.  Other than that, turn the bass boost or bass eq off.

Another thing to try that can really effect how the sub sounds is positioning.  Try shifting it around the trunk and listening in different positions.

Hmmm..........I wish i had your problem, too tight, too hard?!?i had 38 speakers in a cavilier and didn't think it was enough.i would just simply turn my bass down a little or if you have a remote bass control turn it down some.i have a mazda mx-3 i am working on now,i want 4 18" cerwin vega strokers in it,i am an extremist when it comes to sound, thats what makes us love the sport and compete as hard as we do,i hate to lose.i hope i can say it hits to hard,if i can't i will be thinking of where i can add another sub.
if i can't make it sound good, then it is just a piece of crap anyway
