I've just installed a  set of 6x9s in the back of my wifes Grand Prix.  There are two sets of wires going to the 4" and the 6x9s in the stock configuration.  The wires for the 6x9s will not work alone, so I hooked the new speakers up to the wires for the 4" speakers.  Now all I get is midrange and highs.  I'm assuming there is an external crossover somewhere sending the 4" speakers midrange and highs and the 6x9s the bass.  Could someone enlighten me on this.  It's not the bose system, just the Delco one (front 5 1/4' components and 4" and 6x9s in the rear).  Thanks.

There is an amp under the passenger side of the dash that powers all six speakers in the car. It has an internal crossover to split the low and upper frequencies to the rear speakers. The may be able to use the rear speaker output wires off the back of the radio, but the signal may be too low. If it's too low, consider replacing the deck with a good aftermarket one. You'll love the improvement.

Thanks, that's what I thought.  She'll just have to deal with it until I get her a new deck and run some new wires.  Thanks.
