Is anyone using any of the BP or GTO JBL amps? After reading something I started checking in on them. It seems like they may be a better choice for me than my Kickers because they put out plenty of power at 1,2,or4ohms. I am looking at specifically 2 of the BP1100.1 or GTO1200.1 and matching 4 channel.

I have never seen any car with a JBL amp running so I would like to hear from experience.

JBL, amps put out plenty of power.

What type of sound are you looking for SPL or SQ.  And many subs and how much power are you looking for?

I used to run bp600.1 and had a customer using the 1100.1. Those amps are tanks man. I never had one over heat or shut down, on top of it all they are more efficent than your kicker amps if I remember correctly. I havent used the GTO series but I can suggest the BP series with a clear conscience

The 1200.1 is a GTO and the 1100.1 is a BP. Anyone know if there are performance differences between the 2?

Fuseblower: I will be running 2 RFR3110 Power HX2's and need around 1000 watts RMS for each sub. I am going for SPL more than SQ.

Do the JBL's have internal fans? Or do they not need them?

If you are looking for SPL I would get the BP1100.1.   The difference between these amps are there internal design.  The GT is the grand touring and is designed more for SQ than SPL.  The BP amps are designed for SPL and are suppose to be good amps.  The BP amps are the ones that are based upon Crown's Home Audio technology and play at there max volume at a 4 or 1 ohm load.

I don't think they have fans in them but I have never heard of one over heating.

Man, I never sold the GT line, the amps I am talking about are like from 3 years ago so mabye I am just remembering wrong. Those subs are dual 2 ohm so I would be looking at one amp per sub for peak preformance.

would a BPX500.1 be enough power for two 12" Type R subs?
