I recently, (VERY RECENTLY) bought a Power Acoustik Gothic 1200 watt amplifier, i've got it bridged to a pair of 12" Sony Xplod's, with certain songs, after lets say, 4 or 5 songs, the amplifier jumps in and out of protect mode, and shuts off and on, and just continues shutting off by itself, it gets incredibly hot, so much i can't touch it without burning myself, any tips? Need help quick.

How are the subs wired? If parrallel you are putiing to much of a load on the amp. That is if they are svc 4ohm subs.

It sounds like a cranked gain to me, because I don't think a poweracoustik amp could even play for 1 second witha 2 ohm load when bridged.

the Gothic series amplifiers are not mono or class D amplifiers so they cannot handle a bridged 2 Ohm load. You could run each sub off each channel. Anyway, wire them in series, pushing 2 subs at 8 Ohms will still hit hard and will sound cleaner than ur current configuration. Also if ur amplifier is getting extremely hot you'll need to relook how it is mounted. If you have it in an unvented or poorly circulated location it may not be getting proper ventilation to disapate the heat.

iv played with many of power acoustiks amps, , none of them got hot, , , there must be some other factory in play here, , probably impedance to low, or gain to high.
