new parts, new questions

i recieved my fronts the other day, and also a Phoenix Gold 4band EQ. my question is: My deck has 3 Preouts, front, rear, bus-in. My EQ has 1 input for a signal from the deck, and 2 outputs (front rear) that will goto my amp. When im installing this, do i need a Y splitter coming from my decks' 2preouts, and into my 1 input on the EQ? after i get that completed, it should be as simple as hooking my amp to my Crossover, and the cross over to the mids and tweets right? (simple lmao... *cough*) and reguarding placement of the crossover and the EQ, i know its better to use as little wire as possible to wire everything up (within reason), but if i needed to space some things out would there be an acceptable spot in the whole scheme of things to use more wire than in other spots, IE: from EQ to Crossover, or from the crossover to the speakers? or does it matter? thanks in advance :-)

No, use your front pre-outs to go to the input of the eq only. If you must space things out in the car, then you have to space things out, that's the part that sucks about a car, limited mounting space.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

so because stereos are what i've been led to believe; being 2channel and not 'surround sound' The front is providing the same, or at least, similar signal as the rear? which in that case i dont need any Y splitters :-) thanks for the help, hopefully my weekend is productive :-)

just wondering you mentioned that you were going to run from cd to eq and eq to speakers.    do you have an amp in that mix?      i am guessing so.    I would use your rear outputs, some people say that the rear outputs sometimes have a high voltage output, i havent found a unit that i could notice a diffrence though.2009 0-1000 Trunk WR 154.0DB 2009 1001+ Trunk WR

yeah, sorry bout the ill description, i was on a 20min lunch break lol. my setup will be as follows HeadUnit -> EQ -> AMP ->> Rear Speakers : Crossover -> Front speakers ( ->> & * : * indicating the amp pushing rears and the crossover, not speakers to crossover, but i think ppl could figure that one out by themselves ;p) Thanks for the input guys, will let you know how my weekend went monday or somethin, i cant wait to install all this ;o
