WOW!!! The owners manual for this amp says that it can easily pull up to 800 Amps. All I have to say is DANG, that's some GREAT engineering, but why would anyone need that much power??

800 amps? get out of here. That would mean at 14.4volts it could put out upwards of 11000 watts which would like, completely drain a standard 12volt battery in a matter of seconds. If it does then I know why its MSRP is $6000 though lol.

It also has a big yellow sticker at the speaker output warning the user of 'deadly AC voltages'

If you can actually get the power to that amp, it is no joke. With a 60 Hz input and a steady DC input, this amp could realistically provide a stable 120 VAC, 60Hz to a small home or apartment.

The JBL guys were supposed to have that installed in a RAV-4. The fiberglasss work was insane, but the amp wasn't wired because they still hadn't done anything about the power situation. Has anyone else seen this vehicle?

Yep, the amp is definately for real. Designed by Crown (another Harmon company) for JBL as a mono sub-only amp using what they call "BCA" digital switching technology. Puts out a genuine 8KW into 2 ohms, with a nominal rating from 17Hz - 250 Hz of 6200 watts into 4 ohms and less than 0.05% THD and 85% efficiency (and those specs are under-rated.) This thing can put out 220 volts at the speaker terminals. Weighs around 100 pounds. Current draw will peak at 750 amps (500 amp fuse recomended.) Definately a competition-only beast. I believe the initial production run is around 500 units.

Has anyone ever seen this thing installed in car? Imagine one of those hooked up to one of those 34" audiobhan subs, it would be pure insanity!
