LOC too much for amp?

I just purchased an Alpine 3522 and my head-unit (Alpine CDM-9821) only has one preamp output, and I'm using it right now for my sub amp. Can I use a Peripheral P15 LOC or would that send too high of preamp voltage to the Alpine amp (the amp's gain controls minimum setting is only 2 volts...). I don't really want to split the single preamp output coming from the head-unit because I wouldn't be able to use the sub control on the it anymore.

Just make sure whatever LOC you get has some adjustment screws so that you can tone it down if need be.Certified Security Specialist

The problem is that I already have the one I mentioned above. It says on Peripheral's website about the P15 that it is a fixed (10:1) LOC, what does this mean?

It is always worth a try. Being fixed it obviously is not adjustable. Worst case buy a different LOC or best case a new deck to play with.Certified Security Specialist

It won't send too high a voltage to the amp as long as the head unit is putting out no more than 30 watts per channel.  The 5:1 model puts out the right voltage as long as the head unit puts out no more than 20 volts per channel.  The P-35 is the adjustable one.   IMO, you should be perfectly safe with the LOC that you have.Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
