hi,

i have just bought an alpine 7998r head unit to go in a 1995 bmw 316i (with standard speakers) however i didnt realise it needed an amp to power the front and back speakers. I also already have a powered sub (vibe active 10")

Can anyone suggest a good amp to power my standard speakers (one which will give me good sound without being more than needed for the current speakers)? or would i really need to fork out more money on some new speakers and amp to make my car sound good?

any suggestions much appreciated. alpine 7998r head unit -- posted image.

MRP-F240 should be all you need for your factory speakers, but if you planned on upgradeing later you may want to get a more powerful amp.
