Hey folks, Im looking to get a dire audio koda 10" subwoofer for ym cabrio, now as some of you know the VW cabrio doesnt really have a trunk. Im wondering if I could build a box that is about 5.5 in in hieght 32 width and 24 in depth. would this still work? is cubic feet, cubic feet no matter that form as long as its in the same general space or will the shape of the box distorte the sound?

in general you are right in saying that air space is air space is air space. As long as you have enough room for the driver to mount you are a ok.

you also want to leave about 1" of space between the bottom of the sub and the bottom of the box so the vent can move air freely.  If you plug it up the sub will over heat, just like your car would if your radiator got clogged up.
