I'm gonna try building a bandpass box with the two RF xlc 8s that ive got and was wondering about the inside vol of the box.

It will be a double bandpass box.

The specs on the subs are .30 sealed and  .625 ported

im not sure if youve been told but bandpass boxes aren't that great as they are 1 note wonders...but if your set on a bandpass box for some reason then i can only assume a person who is willing to design that box for you would need the t/s parameters...im no good with bandpass boxes  sorry...if you want a ported or sealed box let me know ill be happy to design something for you.

Well i was thinking of doing this cause ive sold the van and the 8s are gonna go in the trunk of the new car \ I was thinking that a bandpass would be better in the trunk,Untrue?

If you can help me with a ported enclosure that would be great too but if sealed is best with a more powerful amp i'm prepared to go there too?

what is your goal from the subs? do you like just annoying people with the loud noise or do you enjoy the actual sound quality of the speakers and the entire sound enviroment? aka...do you want spl or sq?

You mean trunk size? If so its roughly 40 inches across and 20 inches high right behind the rear seat,Its an olds 88 royale so space is very available.

The reason i was thinking bandpass or ported was to make the subs produce a little more.

I have them in a sealed now and was hooked to a RF 200m and wasent happy with the bass output.

I have since sold the amp and am now looking one with more power , Like the recomended 200w rms for each sub.

I agree a sealed box for those R/F woofers would work best as a trunk sub set up. Of coarse adding extra power never hurts either as long as its not over rated false power but true wattage. Be sure when designing your trunk sub to consider what else are you going to put in the trunk like groceries and kid stuff and spare tire access. Maybe some good strong cage grills would protect them also.

if you already have sealed boxes use them unless you have the money to upgrade ur box also. but definately get yourself a good amp to go with the subs.
