Please check this setup

Hi everyone,

I am setting up a system ,albeit a cheap one : head unit - FX114 from Repco , 4 X 35 W amp - Kingfisher 4 channel (Hong Kong import) – 4 X 60WRMS at 4 ohm, 2 X 180WRMS at 4 ohm (Bridged mode) Sub – Kenwood 10”, 500W fronts and rears – Ford Festiva stock model, 25W each I am running bridging a sub to two channels, and powering the front left and front right speakers with one channel each. Can you please verify the following: (1) The head unit has 1 preout, and in the manual it doesn’t specify if they are L & R, or Front, or Rear. Im not entirely sure, the manual is very brief. How would I determine what they are ? I only want to power the fronts and the sub.

(2) When I run speaker wires from the amp back up to the head unit, do I solder these to the factory harness or to the head unit wires themselves ?? The manual says “Each speaker wire cannot be soldered together with other wires”

Whats the difference anyway between joining the amp speaker wires to the HU wires, and joining the amp speaker wires to the factory wires ?? A solder is a solder isnt it ?

Im not sure about this step.

(3) The speakers are only 25W each and the fronts are powered by 60WRMS each. Is there any chance of blowing the speakers ?? I am concerned that they can’t handle the power of the amp.

If the HU only has one preout, it will be front left and right. You will not have the option of rears, but seeing that the amp is a 4 channel, then you can split the preout with Y adaptors or if the amp have channel splitter's with a switch, then use that.

You want to run the speaker wires from the amp to the speaker's themselves. If you want to cheat, you can run then to the back of the HU and tap into the OEM wires at the harness.

Not sure what your asking here, but you can not connect the wires from the amp to the deck, they are both outputs and connecting them will fry both units if connected to each other.

Overpowering your speaker's will not damage the speaker's. They are only factory speaker's anyway and if you do blow them, just get another set that are rated at 50 watts RMS. You not out anything if you blow those cheap speaker's.
