I did an install for a friend in a '99 wrangler and i put the kenwood amp under the seat. Soon afterward he started to run in to problems with it overheating and shutting down. So, so far i have jacked up the seat and also used a frame around it that pushes the carpet well off the amp. At this point i'm fairly certain we're getting enough air space for the amp but it's still shutting down from heat. Is there anything in the connections or the settings of the amp that can produce excessive heat to the extent of shutting down?

Any help would be appreciated

How do you have your speakers set up? Ifg you are using this as a sub amp, How many speakers are you using and how do you have them wired?

we're running two ten's, rockford fosgate stage 3's. They're wired in a combination of series and parallel giving a four ohm load.

it's up but still at a reasonable level. I haven't looked at it recently so i'll check it. I'm also wondering whether the input sensitivity could be off but I'm just not sure whether even if those are off that would create enough heat to shut it down
