Need help getting a factory stereo out of the dash of a 1993 ford thunderbird. Have went and bought the special tools needed to take the factory out, but it does not want to come out. I have torn the dash apart as much as possible and cannot get the clips to release. My question is, are those clips supposed to be pushed toward the sides of the radio or away from the radio? I have tried to push the clips back toward the radio but still cannot get the deck out. Anyone know of a trick or a way to get the factory deck out? Need any and all help fast. Thanks!

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

Hello,

Ok, got the pins to release finally!!! The pins go toward the sides of the radio. The tool I bought was not pulling them in far enough to release them. So I rigged a couple of small screw drivers and pulled out one side at a time. So much for the tool I bought! Anyways, thought might post a follow-up. Thanks for the reply.
