Any Dynamat advice?

I am about to install Dynamat in my Bronco.  It is mostly Extreme, but I have some Original as well.

Any general tips or advice?  I have seen a lot of contradictory stuff about Dynamat.

Such as -

You need/don't need a heat gun.  Well, I have one if I need one.

It has/does not have a bad odor.  I don't know...  I hope not. 

That's ok, I am using the original on a large, flat surface (the inside of the tailgate) and the Extreme for the doors etc.

I used a case to do the trunk of my Corrolla and it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be. 

Real maliable, the Xtreme is anyway.  As long as you have a roller to rub it in with.  DO NOT use your hands, not only can you not get nearly as much pressure behind them, but the edges of the dynamat are actually fairly sharp and I kept cutting myself.  No matter what the surface I was putting it on or how weirdly shaped, I found with a vague square shaped cut of the stuff, I could roll it on quite properly real easily.  The end result was excellent.

Make sure you put it on all over though, like in the pictures on Dynamat's website.  Don't put strips of it on like zebra stripes or something . ..  I see that sh*t all over ppl's install pics and its a waste of the stuff.
