Well this may be like asking who knew einstein personally in a room full of math majors but,  I used to know a guy that was way up the iq chart and decided to play around with port design in a sub box, creating basically a giant ported box that the sub mounted to sort of like a bandpass system but it was a massive port the only one i remember was a 10 inch box he built with the sub closed inside behind a panel and in front of it he had something like a 2-4 inch square port that was like 10 feet long or longer i cant remember exact specs, he pushed this with 500 watts and was hitting notes on a 10 that i've never heard from songs that i listened to sometimes daily in my car that had 2 12s in sealed boxes, granted mine wasnt a great system but this guys whole car would vibrate from resonant frequency alone it was very impressive stuff i was wondering if anyone knows anything about these boxes as i'm wanting to make one with a 10 that i have laying around, the guys name was willie and he lived around st.louis if anyone knows him or if he happens to be a member here lol, any info on this type of box would be very appreciated.

J~

Transmission Line Enclosure.....some info here to get you started.  I haven't tried one of these yet.  It's complicated in concept and more complicated in application.  I would say research everything you can find, and be prepared to experiment with some different models.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Thank you so much for the info i've been trying to find the basic theory behind his boxes forever, he built 3 or 4 of them, the first one used a 15 and was supposed to hit notes that humans couldnt hear, then a 12 and then the 10 box i dunno that he ever built another one, i know he was wanting to apply for a patent on the box but dunno whatever happened with it.

J~
