I have an 8 ohm 150 watt 8" sub.  I need to get it down to 4 ohms, so I can drive it with my amp.  I know I can parallel it with an 8 ohm resistor, but my question is what wattage should the 8 ohm resistor be?  I really appreciate any info you guys can give me.  Thanks

You don't need to get it down to 4 ohms, because 8 ohms puts less strain on the amp.  It's an easy load for an amp to handle.  You'll get the same result in output as using a resistor and keep it easier on the amp, too.  Keep in mind, what the resistor would do is take half the power and convert it to heat.  Not necessary.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
