One of the troubleshoot section of my JVC H/U:

Unit becomes hot-

  • Is the speaker output lead grounded?
  • Are the "-" terminals of L and R speakers grounded in common?

I couldn't understand both the the solutions, can anyone give me a bit more clearer instructions?

Im sorry, but I am still a noob in car audio. Can anyone explain this to me? -- posted image.

alot of units become hot after a hour or more of use, if you are getting hot very quickly check to make sure nothing is sitting right on top of the radio in the dash,    they need ventalation as well
