I dont have the speakers hooked up yet. . . . but i dont think thats the problem . . . or could that be it?   . . . . .any ? cause i am stumped . . .

Maybe the Yellow wire isnt the switch wire . . . . anyone know which is?

You could just connect it to an ignition wire.  This way the amp would cut on when you turn key on.

I think the Monsoon uses speaker level to turn on amp.  Once the amp senses speaker input, it switches on.  To the best of my knowledge there is no remote switch wire.

You should check the wire with a multi meter to see if you do get 12v when the key is in ACC or ON.  What I ussualy do for the remote wire is to hook it up to the fuse on the fuse panel that sais radio.  You can buy a 2nd circut adapter that plugs into the fuse slot.  This adapter has two fuses, one for the radio and another for the 2nd circut (amp).  If you were to add more accesories to the remote cable then it is suggested that you get a relay in that circut but I guess it would be fine for just one amp.  If you hear noise in the system this might be a source later on.

I once did something really stupid when I installed an amp.  I switched the power and the ground but the amp had polarity protection so it didn't blow but the amp was turning on the lamp for a short time.

On the 2000 camaro the switched wire is yellow and so is one of the speaker wires.
