No I am not asking I am venting...I had someone tell me again they wanted a wing for thier import...grrrrrr...I know that I have the factory wing on my civic because its a factory piece,   But if you drive a 1986 toyota corolla you dont need a wing!   It looks retarted! and you will never go over 160-200MPH to actually ever have to put that to use..
I am putting this in the car audio fourm too, so I will relate it....I heard a wing will help hold the trunk down and stop alot of rattling,   Yes I have even heard that...Will someone please hit me with a shovel!!!

I totally agree! I always laugh at the kids with a pos car that sounds like a go-cart w/ a giant 3-level wing. Especially when they're leaning so far toward the middle of the car you can barely see them. It is like they think they're god's gift to cool. The funniest part of the entire thing is, they don't get that everyone looks at them NOT because they're cool - we look and laugh because we think they've got to be kidding. ;-)
Undoubtedly these are the same kids who are sold on Audiobahn, put giant stickers all over their car, install tweeters everywhere, register to vote-but don't, listen to BOSE at home, encode mp3 at 128kbps, and only listen to music if the artist has been shot 40 times. ;-)
Just kidding, obviously, on most of those cuts, but I agree 100% on the wing thing.

hehe yeah, iv almost got my ass kicked more than a few times for ripping on people's grandma cars with wings, and sh*tty systems that they love to crank to distortion.  I usually settle it with a sound off with my factory components and 1 type-e 12 in the perfect box.  Stupid kids.  I usually see there cars in my bay a little while later getting some TLC from me.

I've got the best.  A 1990 grand marque i believe.  Man oh man.  And that wing was HUGE!!!  If you've got a supra that you rally in then that's one thing, but even those don't have some massive chunk of heavy metal on the trunk lid.  If you get a low profile spoiler then that makes sense.  A spoiler does more to keep a tail end clean then keep the back end down.  And if you've got a front wheel drive car with a 2 foot high wing on it.... wouldn't you want the wing on the front to give your traction to the tires in the front?  Maybe all my physics and engineering has told me wrong all these years.

That's why I'm becoming a mech engineer.  So i can make those stupid things and me and bill gates can go to our four island houses and watch those dorks drive around with them.  Do i need a wing? -- posted image.   It'll be the same concept, windows is crap and so is the idea of my wing, but hey everyone buys windows right?  So the wing should be all go then right?

Jeff, I definately think you need a wing.  A great big neon green wing outlined with LEDs that is slightly over the roofline of your Festiva should add about 6db, eh?

Dude. neon's don't add to the loudness of the sub! It's the plastic "chrome" 14" spinnin hubcaps.  That way it can rattle even more when you blast those massive 8" paper cone subs that have a huge 100 watts pushing them.  And the blue tireflys.  Those give a good 2 db.

I a wing looks good on a car that already has substantial bodywork done (body kit, custom hood, etc.). But when I see a ford taurus with a wing...thats taken it a litte far. And a wing on a grand marq....that sacrelige!! I would never do that to my '88 Vic....UGH!! Speaking of wings....you guys would LOVE my buddys winter car. Its as 1990 4 door civic with a FULL WOOD BODY KIT!! Wing, body kit, hood scoop, the whole ten yards, al made of wood, painted white. Its only his winter car, he would never do that to his good car (nissan 240). He put quite a bit of time into it, but its the damn funniest thing ever. Pink rims and graphics to!! Ill post pics of it if I get a chance.
