Does anyone have any experience with the old Alpine ERAG-320 sound field processor/EQ? Looking through the manual it states that all volume changes will need to be made through this unit, not the HU, after initial setup. This is the case because it is not being connected to an Alpine HU with "Ainet".
I'm still debating if I will install this thing. Any info would be appreciated.

I have the unit. I have been able to change pretty much anything from my CVA-1006 head unit. I did notice one thing. I had to set the EQ with the GRE-320 before the head unit would recognize the extra frequencies that were now available. Once I did that I went into the head unit and saw I now had more frequencies and as long as I changed the EQ manually, and did not choose a pre-set EQ setting I could make changes. Once I accidentally chose a Pre-set EQ setting I had to go back to the GRE-320 and make changes again. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if it dosent.

Ya it all makes sense.
Unfortunatly in my scenario I am connecting it to a Clarion DRX6475. I wont have the benefits of the Alpine "Ai-net" setup. In other words my era-g320 wont be configurable from the HU.
My question is really weather or not anyone has a similar setup and found any problems with it.
I probably wont be happy with the setup if I need to use the 320 controller for all volume changes as the manual suggests.
