Now, I've read what alot of people have been saying about audiobahn and I just want to understand why I enjoy them so much. I have had two audiobahn systems (2 seperate vehicles) and I have never had a problem with either vehicle. I had the first in an eclipse for over 2 years until the entire system was stolen. I have the current system in a dodge dakota (with a security system this time). They were both pretty much the same setup, Audiobahn components and 2 audiobahn 10s(1051ts) and a audiobahn 800 watt amp (forget the model number).
I have never been to a car show or audio competition and I guess that could mean I've never heard a GREAT system. I also do not look to compete, I only use the system for daily listening. And even though I use if for daily listening, I can turn it up loud enough for someone to hear me coming down the block (I can't stand it for too long though) and I can't hear any distortion, it still sounds great. Compared to everyone I know, I have the best sounding system (most have never been to car audio competitions either, just basing off other friends cars).
I have heard alot of systems and some terrible systems, with bad enclosures, bad components, and just bad quality sound. So I doubt that I just THINK I have a good sounding system.
Are most of you saying that Audiobahn is bad for competition purposes or just bad for the price? I mean does Audiobahn make good speakers, just expensive, because I feel that I have got more for what I paid for. I paid less than 100 for the pair of 10s and 200 for the amp. I bought the components over a year ago, but I doubt I paid more than 150 for the entire set.
Can you guys explain why I think they're great or maybe the hate for audiobahn is just exaggerated.
Sorry to make this so long but I have a few more questions and you guys (collectively) know everything.
1. I want to build another system to my girlfriends car and as you can see, I am leaning toward another audiobahn system because they have been reliable to me. But, I want to try something new because I am still relatively new to this, so if anyone has suggestions for another brand to use within the same price range, let me know. I also like to work with one brand at a time (same amp, subs, components). If that is not a good thing to do, let me know why.
2. I want to get an amp for the components in my truck and I don't know what to get. I have an audiobahn component set with 2 tweeters, 2 4in, and 2 6.5 in, with crossovers. They are rated at 320 rms total. I have never done an amp to components so I have no idea what to get. I prefer an audiobahn amp. They are currently being pushed my the alpine deck (i forgot what power it has) but I know I can get more out of them.
Thanks, I know it was alot to read.

Audiobahn is marketed to the "boy racer" and is a bit more expensive than it has a right to be.  That's pretty much all everybody has to say about it.  Enjoy your tunes, man!  You can probably pick from a long list to get another system that equals it for the other car.  Try Pioneer.  Or Power Acoustik.  But, personally, I'm not a "one manufacturer does it all" kinda guy.  I like to pick and choose and do my own assembly of brands.

Don't you ever think out loud that "I am surrounded by dumb people" or think "I see stupid people"?
Maybe it is just me, especially lately.

Yeah I'm with stevdart.  Majority of companies out there don't have all good equipment.  They are specialized.  JL's major is subs and some amps.  Infinity has some really nice comonents for the price (sub also).  Alpine's got some good all-around stuff but, just in my opinion, nothing that's exceptional.  And the list goes on.  But if I had to choose I would go with Infinity components with a Infinity sub (or two)  and use a hu of you're choice (Pioneer is ok, Alpine, depends on preferance).  A good MTX amp, or once again another of your preferance.  I'm mainly recomending Infinity for the speakers and subs.  I've got both and love them, especially for the price that I paid for them.
