Looking for honest feedback on this amp and its real world capability. What kind of wattage at 2ohm load per channel can this baby really put out? I will be powering a two SW8122DVC subs.

Thanks

I cannot say with absolute certainty how much it will REALLY put out, but real-world experience, I've got. I have run it to the Eclipse Titanium 10 AND it is presently running my Titanium 12, and I can tell you, it is MOSTER POWERHOUSE. Before I spent the cash, I was able to speak with (directly) one of the engineers from Eclipse at the CES last year, and he informed me that that amp puts out a realistic 1300wpc into a 4 ohm load. Seeing the way it powers the sub I have right now, I have to believe it. Initially, I started my system with the 34230 (now sadly discontinued) which was the 1100 watt analog "big boy" that Eclipse had, and I was WAY underimpressed with it running the Titanium 10... I was amazed at the lack of output. I mean, it was a lot of output, but I wanted more. I thought 1100 watts to a single 10 was going to be plenty. So, while I was at the CES, before I bought the 7232, I made a trip SPECIFICALLY to the Eclipse booth, and asked to speak to an engineer. He informed me that the 7232 was designed for the PURPOSE OF running the Titanium drivers. He took me over to one of the new Pro woofers (drool, drool) and said the amp was perfectly capable of driving THOSE to insane outputs. I was skeptical of course, he works for the company.
I came back home thinking, "OK, I'll get one (maybe). Or maybe I'll get another 10 and 34230." Then I heard the 7232 on a Pro 18. Holy CHRIST on the cross! I was sold. The output was AMAZING, the control was extreme, and the price was right. The titanium drivers are VERY capable mates to this amp, and I did upgrade to the 12" Ti, and the only thing I miss, is the extension. The 12 is in a box SLIGHTLY smaller than it should be, I went for a system Q of 1.1 for power handling capability, which gives me a slower roll off, instead of a knee, and I traded (native) extension for output. When I get my UCSPro installed, I'll get all of that back, using what I call the "BFI Method of Subwoofers" BFI stands for Brute Force and Ignorance, and it applies everything WRONG to what most people know about subwoofer construction. Basically, you decide what size box you want, slam the woofer into it, then BEAT THE HELL OUT OF IT with as much power and equalization you can afford! Eclipse DA7232 -- posted image. It's a great time! "Do not try this at home, kids, we're what you call 'experts'"
Anyway, the amp is good. An honstly rated piece of gear, and very capable. Sounds GREAT, performs GREAT, no heat to speak of! Make certain you have the capabilities to keep is power hungry ass supplied with currend! READ: HO ALTERNATOR. Overall, an excellent amp to power your chioce of woofers.

I took the plunge and ordered this bad boy today.. Can you tell me if there are two gain adjustments for each channel or one for both channels?

They are dedicated gains, one to each channel, and decent crossover capabilities, to boot... Enjoy!!! I am firmly convinced you will be impressed by this amp.

By chance you don't have pictures of the amp up close.. I'm looking for pictures of the front and back of amp so I can see the adjustments..I'm getting anxious!

Sorry, I don't have any close-ups... I think the #4 inputs go on one end, all signals (in and out) are on the other end, and the gains and crossover controls are on that end as well. I will try to get some scans of the manual (which I think I still have) and get 'em up tonight or tomorrow.

I just got home, went to the gaage and pulled the box down for my amp, and no manual in it. Sorry man. I will continue to look, but if it is not there, I am not really sure WHERE it could be... I'll try to get some pictures of the one available end in my system tomorrow, if I can't find the manual.

Hey, man... you get your amp yet? Just wondering, and I know I have been slackin' off and not gotten you the pics I promised... if you are lucky, you MAY see them before you get yours! LOL Eclipse DA7232 -- posted image.
